HOW FINSOURCE WAS FOUNDED
I once worked for a company that was highly profitable—its earnings had already met the requirements for a public listing. I recommended that the company consider going public. While the financial criteria were met, the company fell short on qualitative standards. They proceeded to submit a listing application, but due to unresolved issues, the attempt was ultimately unsuccessful. The listing plan was then put on hold.
This experience made me realise that going public can address many challenges a business faces. Although the company did not succeed in listing, the process of adopting listing-standard governance significantly improved its compliance and performance.
From this experience, I came to understand that an IPO is not just a fundraising exercise, but a platform that brings numerous benefits. This insight inspired me to begin promoting capital market awareness, with the goal of helping Malaysian entrepreneurs harness the power of capital strategy.

Why M&A
I chose to pursue a career in mergers and acquisitions because I aspire to help businesses find the best path forward at their peak—ensuring the continuity and enhancement of their value—rather than seeing them forced to shut down during times of difficulty. My goal is to leverage my professional expertise to support companies in securing the optimal exit while they are at their strongest, not when they are at their most vulnerable.
